Christ The Perfect Atonement

 

As much as how switching on the light dispels the darkness in a room, as much as how we speak bout God's healing when someone is sick, aren't we then supposed to speak of the righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus when a believer is in sin? Today, we shout "There is darkness! There is darkness! There is darkness!" but what profit would that bring if we do not switch on the light that would dispel the darkness away automatically? By emphasising on the darkness, will the darkness flee away? or emphasising on the Light, will the darkness flee away? Certainly the latter, right? When we focus on our identity as being righteous in Christ, the darkness(sin, guilt, fear and condemnation) would be dispelled. Am I then, down-playing sin? Certainly not. If we want to see the complete effect of sin, look at our Savior, God's only Son at the Cross. He endured a horrible death because He took your sins and my sins. 

Now, God is righteous, He is a thrice-Holy God, He is the Righteous Judge. In Jeremiah, He says that "the soul that sins shall die.." but in 1 John, it is written "God is love.." God's justice says that the soul that sins shall die but God's love says He doesn't want YOU to die. Now, it seems like God is in a dilemma, isn't it? Ah! That's when the Cross becomes the wisdom of God! The Cross becomes the solution. You see, mercy cannot be exercised at the expense of His justice and holiness. "Nothing is passed over by God and yet nothing is imputed to us for Christ was judged for them all." Therefore, did our sins go unpunished? NO! Our sins were punished but in Another's body and who's body is that? Our Lord Jesus' !

Yes, friend! God exacted all his judgment, wrath and punishment on the body of Jesus Christ, so that we may walk in Christ free of all condemnation (divine sentence), judgment and wrath (Romans 8:1). Today, if you would just put your faith in Christ as your Lord and Savior, regardless of how big or severe your sins were, regardless of how many sins or wrongdoings you have committed, you are declared righteous (complete clearance of all guilt), by the Blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses you from all sin and unrighteousness. This means you are standing right before God's eyes, before the living God upon the righteous foundation of the Blood of Christ and His finished work which is unshakable!
