If the Bride of Christ does not talk about Christ, who else will?

Image
Today, we have access to unlimited information at our fingertips and as much as how it can be a good thing, sometimes it could turn out to be bad when it comes to narrowing down and focusing on just one subject. That's what is happening in churches today. It is good to talk about spiritual warfare, faith, healing, breakthroughs, miracles, prayer, fasting etc but are we speaking bout Christ? Are we really pointing everything back to Him and Him alone? Christ is in every page of the Scriptures. It is fascinating to encounter to Christ in the Word, every time we read His Word. The Holy Spirit points to Him and if our Bible reading isn't doing that, then who is our guide When something good happens in our life, we get a good job posting or a new house, car or any type of blessing, we believers often easily say "Thank God...." in front of our colleagues or friends but what if we be more specific and say "Thank you Jesus." It may sound like it's not a big diff...

You are not your addiction

YOU ARE NOT YOUR ADDICTION Today, we identify ourselves in what we do rather than who we are! Our identity is not anchored upon our predicament or circumstances but who we are in Christ and how God sees us in Christ. Friend, if you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior and you are still struggling with addictions, this post is for you. Let me tell you something, Jesus is the end of your struggles! The fact that you acknowledge that there is a battle, there is a struggle is the first step toward experiencing freedom. Your freedom is not found in charitable deeds that would soothe your conscience, your freedom is not found in formulas or a step-by-step guided practices or dietary practices but freedom is found in Christ alone and Him alone. In Romans 7, we see Apostle Paul's struggle... "18  And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. [ d ]  I want to do what is right, but I can’t.   19  I want to do what is good, but I don’t. ...

Christ The Perfect Atonement

As much as how switching on the light dispels the darkness in a room, as much as how we speak bout God's healing when someone is sick, aren't we then supposed to speak of the righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus when a believer is in sin? Today, we shout "There is darkness! There is darkness! There is darkness!" but what profit would that bring if we do not switch on the light that would dispel the darkness away automatically? By emphasising on the darkness, will the darkness flee away? or emphasising on the Light, will the darkness flee away? Certainly the latter, right? When we focus on our identity as being righteous in Christ, the darkness(sin, guilt, fear and condemnation) would be dispelled. Am I then, down-playing sin? Certainly not. If we want to see the complete effect of sin, look at our Savior, God's only Son at the Cross. He endured a horrible death because He took your sins and my sins.  Now, God is righteous, He is a thrice-Holy God, He is the Ri...

Are you under the "Performance Trap" ?

Today, many of the issues in an individual's life stem from one primary area of understanding which is ; his/her identity. When you realize who you are before God's eyes, you will stop trying to be who you are not. The devil has used his age-long trick from the very beginning of creation. Unfortunately, to his demise, many are being set free from this by the powerful truth and emphasis on identity in these last days. When Adam was created, God said "Let us make man in our own image." Now, when Adam was created, note that according to God's words, he was already in God's very own image and likeness. However, when the serpent came to deceive Adam & Eve, he said " If you eat of this fruit , you will become like gods." Notice how the devil puts the emphasis on DOING something in order to BECOME someone? when God actually says He has already made them in His likeness?  In today's context, if we say that our 5 hours of praying, 30 days of fastin...

Christ & Mental Health

In today's world, many may think or say that the relevance of the Bible or need for Christ is growing lesser and lesser. "Modern world, modern problems and modern solutions needed." However, as much as there is an exponential growth of seminars on happiness, 8-step formulas to peace of mind, music that may calm our nerves or even the how-to books on inner peace, the rate of suicidal cases per day and people being admitted to hospitals as cases of depression are rapidly growing.  The question we would ask then is, what is the solution? There is a place for application and practical advice. There is a place for seeing fruits in one's life. However, fruits can only grow if we emphasise on the roots as well. Without healthy roots, there is no healthy fruits! And I would always point to the solution that targets your roots (your belief system) who is Christ Himself. You may ask, how is Christ and mental health related in any way? Continue in this journey with me as we unc...

Radical Grace

In this day and age, we see the rapidly growing prejudicial mindset against the Grace of God that has been nurtured by many, unintentionally or intentionally. Phrases like “Grace is a license to sin,” or “Grace produces licentiousness” is being thrown around recklessly. These rumors and statements from even sincere believers are being taken into consideration by new converts or new believers which has led to a constant attack on God’s amazing & pure Grace and has given the devil a footstool to put up fences around this amazing truth in the Christian community.  What is Grace? Grace is unmerited, unearned undeserved favor of God. Grace is God extending His lovingkindness despite your imperfections, failures or flaws and to produce strength within you to overcome all adversities in life. Grace is the inexhaustible supply of God’s goodness according to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon.Grace when encountered upon, will never leave you the same way you were before, God’s Grace is the only way ...
